5.13 The Beatitudes- Poor in Spirit

To begin the study on the Sermon on the Mount, we'll start with the first of the Beatitudes, Blessed are the poor in spirit. In addition, I do an overview of the Beatitudes and pull from the similar account in Luke and other biblical parallels to shed more light on the various meanings and interpretations of these passages. As always, it also includes an assessment of how this verse and the principles behind it relate to our relationship with the state and government as an institution in general.
